The joining of two apartments, one above the other, gave birth to a duplex apartment in the historical center of Prague.

The house has already undergone major renovation in the past, during which, upon removal of the drywall soffits, architects discovered rough concrete ceilings that they decided to include in the interior. This created the interesting contrast between the historical details and the rough concrete.

Contrast was also brought into the interior through the black and white Hager retro light switches from the 1930 Berker series
The colors in the kitchen, bathroom and corridor were chosen to blend in with the surface; elsewhere, they stand out.

The interior is tuned throughout the concept in monochrome with small accents of brass.

Stunning lights ensured the connection between the cooking island and the dining table. As Katrin Grund, the founder of MONOBRAND, says: "Lighting crowns the interior“ and adds „We worked with architects from the OOOOX studio to design lighting for the entire apartment. It was not our first joint project, and I think even with our sensitive selection of fixtures, we managed to achieve the consistent and harmonious impression that the interior now projects“.
